The Pro Form Quick Start 9.0 Treadmill is as the name suggests a Quick Start Treadmill and is therefore one of the easiest to set-up that we’ve seen . The Proform 9.0 Quick Start treadmill is sturdy, strong and is easily used by anyone of any weight up to 20.5 stone (130kg) whether just for keeping fit or for a serious workout.
Any user will find this treadmill simple to use as it has a control console which can change the belts speed or incline with just one touch for each. The belt is powered up by a reasonable quiet 1.75 HP motor and the belt is 46cm x 127cm with speed options from 0mph up to 11 mph and goes from flat up to a 10% incline. The belt is a non-slip treadmill belt which can accommodate long strides and also comes pre-lubricated for instant use on arrival.
The Proform 9.0 comes with 16 programs of workouts which are all aimed at weight loss and performance covering different inclines, speeds and are also available for heart rate control.
On the rest of the console there is a 3.5mm jack for using with music devices such as mp3′s or an Ipod and there is also built in speakers to play music while you workout, also for those who workout till they are hot or are in a warm room, there is also a built in fan to help cool you down.
The console screen is a red LED display with three oversized windows which shows the following information:
- Current speed
- Incline level
- Pulse reading
- Distance covered
- Theoretical calories burned
- Time elapsed
The treadmill also has a slot for ifit cards, which contain structured workouts which cover a average of a 8 week time frame and they cover: weight loss, general health and improving fitness. During these workouts you will get vocal feedback through the speakers.
When running it is always useful to feel less of a impact with each stride / step the treadmill comes with adjustable cushioning built in just under the belt. This gives the treadmill a reduced joint impact of 15% than running on a road.
